Finale

After several weeks of absent post, i thought i'd go out with a bang.

It was a tight race clear to the end. WOW! In all my years of watching the Amazing Race i've never seen 3 teams so closely matched! It was incredible. One leg you were sure that Luke and Margie were gonna get it. Then the Cheerleaders pulled ahead! (Secretly, i think they could have made it to the very end if it wasn't for their rotten luck with taxi drivers.) Then Tammy and Victor were at the end of the of line only to pull ahead with the Memory Surfboard game. Unbelieveable. To win the race this episode really was a test of the Most Amazing. Congratulations Tammy and Victor!

Stunt men again?

Ok. Before i go any further, i'd just like to say i think the stunt men are a really strong team. They work well together, they're athletic, they don't get down on themselves, etc. You get the point. But honestly! How many more stupid mistakes are they gonna make?! Two penalties? Has that ever happened before in the history of AR? In the same LEG! For sabotaging!! AGGH! I'm glad Phill didn't let them get away with it. But trev and i couldn't believe how far ahead they were of the other teams - a whole HOUR. Unbelievable. Ok. That's all i have to say.

What were they thinking?!

Why on earth did these goofs choose move it over shake it. Shake it was by far the better choice. That bad call almost got them eliminated! For a couple minutes I seriously thought they were going to come in last even though the Flight Attendants had a speed bump. By the way that looked like a fun speed bump....painting an elephant, how cool!

The other What Were They Thinking part was when several teams misunderstood the directions for transporting the camel feed.

I couldn't find a picture of the girl (from the sister team) who carried the feed in her shirt but that was hilarious!

"Blind" U-Turn

I can't believe how everyone flip-flopped in position this episode! Those who came in last came in first, those who came in first came in last and all the way down the line. It was amazing. I guess that's why they call it the "amazing race", eh? hahah

I was proud of my team for pulling thru to the end and getting a third place finish. It was a tear jerkin' moment. I was bummed about Mike/Mel going from very first place to 2nd to last. I was sad- they tried really hard. Who knew stacking wood could be so complicated?! The biggest surprise was to see the BLONDES come in for a first place finish! WHAT? And they won motorcycles! What's a surgerically put together blonde going to do with a motorcycle? You know she'd never risk messing up all her procedures. At least her partner looked excited about it.

So Holly, did you anticipate your team being so diabolical? They were the only ones to apply the U-turn. And for what purpose you ask? Oh, so Lukie-poo's favorite redheads could stay in the race. Bah. BOOO. I saw next weeks episode how they outted themselves. Hopefully the other teams make them pay for it. Sorry, but honestly, the redheads need to learn to fend for themselves. The team that got U-turned had a chance i thought. It could have been close. But you just can't come back from a U-turn like that. Especially when both challenges were so complicated in their own right. Very frustrating. They were a strong team, but i guess that's why Margie and Luke decided to do them in. Couldn't handle the competition.

My favorite part of the entire episode was when Victor was on "tattlecam" commenting about the bobsled challenge. The Russian word they had to unscramble. He says, "Oh i just looked at the letters and instantly thought Chochev, i mean, Who doesn't know Chochev?!" Apparently he was the only one he even had a clue. Awesome. Gotta love the Asian intellect. Good job team!

Just my luck

So i didn't watch episode 3 until today. I was a little confused by the comment of me picking a domineering man belittling his partner. NOW i understand! Victor was awful to his sister!! He should just be grateful that Victoria's team had worse luck. I still can't believe how long they followed those red and white markers! Amazing race is always red and yellow! Tammy kept trying to tell him... i was a wreck (sp?) watching that. My poor kids kept asking me if everything was ok. Anyway, just glad it's over. I hope Tammy and Victor have a special "family council" tonight and work out their differences so that next week will be better viewing "for my poor nerves."
Can you believe the Gay guys came in FIRST?! The old man with his poor, weak, muscles and his super skrannie son?! Unbelievable!
Can't wait for Sunday!

Sorry I'm so LATE!

I totally missed the first episode and I just barely got around to watching the second episode. But don't worry that one episode was enough to get me addicted, like always.

Well it took a lot of thought but I think these guys are my team. First of all they are just gorgeous people, not to mention smart and oh so funny! Ha Ha!

Meesa can you guess who my real fav team is? I feel like I'm very predictable!

They're not my team but of course part of me was pulling for Steve & Linda (mostly because I feel like they're the type of people who have probably never left the state or even city where they were born).

Did anyone have a favorite quote from the second episode? Mine was when one of the flight attendants said "I've never felt like such a dumb blond in my whole life".

AND does Mike look familiar to anyone? The whole time I was watching the show tonight I kept thinking how he looks really familiar. After the show I went to the web to do some research and I'm SO glad I found the answer so I can sleep tonight! He was in the movie School of Rock...Jack Black's friend... Now does he look familiar?

Paragliding

Last episode the Gay team, one of their players pulled a groin muscle. This presented a rather bummer dilemma during one of the challenges. They were suppose to paraglide down a mountain, but if the wind wasn't just right they had to wait for it to stop blowing. ALL, no exaggeration, other teams decided to run down the 5 mile trail rather than wait for winds to be paragliding safe. All except our Gay Team. Poor guy wouldn't have made it down the hill with his groin in bad shape. So he sat and waited. I thought for sure they were done for. But he said a little prayer, the winds changed and he beat 4 teams! In fact, they came in 4th out of 10 at the pit stop! Awesome! Very good suspense.

On the funny side of that... the hillbillies got lost coming down the trail. Maybe they don't know how to read in Virginia because she missed all the markers and ended up on the other side of the mountain! She had to get a ride for a stranger... they drove 20 minutes! before finding her last marker to get the clue. It was unbelieveable! I didn't know someone could get that lost coming down a MARKED trail! hahahah. Needless to say, that cost them the race. They balled like babies in front of Phill, especially the husband. Guess they thought they were luckier than that. Fat chance.

Season Premiere

It's started again.. and what a wonderful start it was! Sorry i didn't post the opening episode sooner, but i was giving my good friend, Holly, a chance to get her TiVO together. Since the 2nd episode aired last night, i thought i'd waited long enough.

So this time around Trev has been watching it with me. We were both impressed with the agility presented by the older, more athletic, couple. But extremely disappointed in the Athletic sisters. They are the typical dumb jocks! Always getting lost, not understanding instructions, doing minimal work. It's really pathetic.

One team that really stood out this first round was the deaf kid and his mom. WOW are they phenomenal together. The way they communicate alone is worth watching. I thought for sure he'd be dead weight in the car when it came to navigating, but his mom is totally on his team. She not only takes the time to see what he is trying to tell her, but it doesn't slow them down! Very impressive.

The producers were careful to give us our typical gay team, dumb blondes, cheerleaders, hillbillies, and my favorite - the sibling team. But there are two that we like to affectionately relate to as: dating couple with fake boobs, and extremely good looking dating couple. hahha Without those distinguishing features they're pretty much the same.

Glad to see 'dating couple with fake boobs' get eliminated the first round. What a pack of whiners! They were proud of all the contention in their relationship! Unbelieable. I hate whiners.

And, for the record... trev and i both chose the same team: The Asian Siblings. I think they're gonna go a long ways.
